Build a Roman-style paper temple
Make a small gabled building with a columned front and a separate pitched roof.
Suggested ages 11+ with adult help · Allow 45–75 minutes · 3 A4 pages
Print your template and guide
The first two pages contain the templates; the final page has materials, making instructions and discussion ideas. Free for home and classroom use. Print single-sided in black and white. Print folding templates at actual size.

You will need
Two A4 sheets of light card, a ruler, pencils, scissors and tape or glue.
Make it step by step
Colour the wall strip on page 1 and cut its outside outline, including the two triangular gables.
Fold the wall joins and the narrow tab. Tape the tab behind the first panel to form a rectangular building.
Cut the roof rectangle on page 2 and fold along the ridge. Set it across the two gables, with an equal overhang at both ends.
Tape the roof edges lightly to the walls or leave it removable. Stand the model on a card base.
Tips and questions
Opposite walls match. The two triangular gables support the roof ridge, and the roof extends slightly beyond the walls to form eaves.
Connect it with Roman Britain
The model suggests a classical temple front, with columns drawn on the wall. Roman Britain also had many other shrine forms. It is a simplified teaching model, not a plan of a particular temple.
Suggested ages are a guide. Read the instructions together and adapt the practical work to your learners. Ask an adult to help with cutting.
